Vegan Miley Cyrus Says She "Loves Manuka Honey" On Instagram Live With Demi Lovato
Being a big Miley fan for years, I was easily intrigued by a Goli ad I saw on Facebook, to check out what Miley and Demi had to say about their products. I was NOT prepared for what I heard next.
Demi shows off her 'immunity table' consisting of rubbing alcohol, tissues and... the Manuka Honey! Miley quickly responds to Demi's display with an enthusiastic
"I love Manuka Honey!"
before her eyes start shifting to another monitor and she hides half of her face from the screen.
Giving Miley the benefit of the doubt here, it's quite possible she was being agreeable with her BFF and simply being polite during yesterdays Instagram Live story; or of course Cyrus is sadly a little more 'plant based' than we had been lead to believe.
Hopefully Miley will clarify this and avoid the vegan community having a major bee in their bonnet! As a certification company, Vegan Founded can certify not just businesses, but artists too! So, we are really hoping this is just a slip of the tongue, and not a tongue in the honey pot!
As for Demi, we couldn't quite figure out if she is still following her vegan lifestyle, but the video would suggest otherwise.
Honey is commonly questioned by vegan curious and non-vegans, and I'm sure we have all heard "So, what's wrong with honey?". To learn about the Honey Industry click HERE.
PETA (People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals) says within their 'What's Wrong With Eating Honey?' summary
"It’s not unusual for larger honey producers to cut off the queen bee’s wings..."
PETA also advises:
"...many sweeteners are made without killing bees: Rice syrup, molasses, sorghum, Sucanat, barley malt, maple syrup, organic cane sugar, and dried fruit or fruit concentrates can replace honey in recipes. Using these will keep your diet bee-free."
We agree, it's better to be bee free and avoid animal exploitation at all costs!
