Green Kitchen 100% vegan café was opened in Brighton by wife and wife team, Catherine & Katie in 2016. We offer a fresh but cosy place to come and enjoy traditional, hearty food, simply veganised. We are totally dog-friendly and our fully vegan staff love it when we have canine visitors. You can sometimes be greeted by rescue staffie-X Pickle, who loves to be the centre of attention. Catherine was a life-long vegetarian and between us we have 20+ years veganism, Catherine having worked at Animal Aid for some time. We are off the beaten track of central Brighton but like to think we are a cosy haven for those who know where we are having built a lovely front room feel for regular and new customers alike. We believe it is easy to live and eat kindly and have developed our own range of meat-free rashers and steak products for retail. These can be purchased at independent stores throughout Sussex or via our website www.greenkitchenbrighton.com, and 10p from the sale of each packets goes to The Retreat Animal Rescue & Sanctuary in Kent, every month. Our vacuum sealed packaging is fully compostable and our labels biodegradable. Our labels each feature a resident of The Retreat and we hope this shows where our fund raising goes but also to help consumers make compassionate choices.
